Horsin' Around

Image
Okay, we're going for a multimedia experience here. Hit play on the following video and then start reading! Inevitably there comes a time when you ride a horse for the first time. Or maybe not. I think that I have ridden a horse maybe 6 times in my life and never for more than 30 minutes at a time. Cowboy? I don't think so. I was always partial to my BMX bike growing up. I always figured there were more advantages to riding a bike, like say, not having to feed it or clean up poop. Be either way, we seem to ride something during our formative years (and yes Lisa, I did look up "formative" to make sure I was using it correctly!). I appears that he is pushing her. Nope, he's just trying to hang on! I think he's getting a little ahead of himself...first bike, then car. If he gets good grades. See, always riding something! Now we're talking! Ride 'em cowboy! We went out to to our friends' house and they saddled up Powder for the kids to ...

Portraits

Image
A while ago, that is, before I last blogged even, we had portraits done because Teagan is  one year old. That's what you do when your child hits age landmarks. So, because our family is way under-documented we all put on our Sunday best, so to speak, and met our friend Jen Long  for a photo shoot. We took the photos downtown between main and first street and the photos turned out great! Thanks Jen! I think this one is my favorite! The boys Our little goof ball Still hard to believe that we have two of these things! Hard to get us all smiling at the same time, especially Autumn! The girls! Pretty photogenic! This would be my second favorite. We are super happy with this set of photos, they turned out great! Give Jen a try if you need a photographer!

Random stuff to catch up

Image
So here's a few photos of some random things that have been happening. Enjoy! Ah the life of a mom. I mean horse. I mean mom. Trinity get some stim time to help with her speech therapy. This little kid has done so well. I couldn't have those things on for 45 minutes, but she does! We took the kids to the park, or rather to the local elementary school that has good play toys. Trinity and Ava ran back and forth. And back and forth. And backand forth. Then they spun the stearing wheel. Then they jumped and screamed like little girls, which is what they are. It makes for a realistic impression. This is how we got them there. Jogger. As Jen put it, BFF. Seriously. Jen is the craft queen. This is part of a Halloween t-shirt project. Yes, t-shirt making often involves torture. And speaking of torture, here is Teagan wearing and Washington State Cougars jersey. I graduated as a Husky. I think I must have done something wrong to Autumn. Alaso: dad of the year taking ...

A Baker's Dozen

Image
So, Teagan is 13 months old. That's the baker's dozen reference . it's been a little while since I blogged. What a weird verb. From Wikipedia: The term "weblog" was coined by Jorn Barger[4] on 17 December 1997. The short form, "blog," was coined by Peter Merholz, who jokingly broke the word weblog into the phrase we blog in the sidebar of his blog Peterme.com in April or May 1999.[5][6][7]Shortly thereafter, Evan Williams at Pyra Labs used "blog" as both a noun and verb ("to blog," meaning "to edit one's weblog or to post to one's weblog") and devised the term "blogger" in connection with Pyra Labs' Blogger product, leading to the popularization of the terms.[8] So there you go, way more information than you ever wanted. And before I bore you to death, on with the blog! When I was a kid (not so long ago, but still longer than I care to admit) I always wanted to play in the ball room at Chuck-E-Chee...

Long, with a bit of randomness

Image
Alright, so randomness isn't the word I am looking for. Maybe this post is without a special event. Well, it lacks direct significance. Let's see how many ways I can try to explain a trip to Boise. We do it fairly often. Actually, Autumn and Trinity do it fairly often. I do it occasionally. Teagan, even less than that. The girls are troopers. Even though it is only 130 miles, it can seem like an eternity if you have to do it at least once a week. This trip had the girls going to two appointments on Wednesday. They we both just follow ups for Trin with the neurologist and ophthalmologist. Everything checked out just fine there. I stayed with Teagan Tuesday and then went over Wednesday night to join Autumn. Trinity and Teagan both stayed with Autumn's folks (thanks Lee and Lorna), who are very helpful and flexible when it comes to our crazy family schedule. Autumn and I celebrated (sort of, as long as you consider a relaxing dinner and then watching television in bed a cele...

Stage Name?

Image
Not a super busy time for the Swarrell family, but Teagan is starting to make some waves in the wrestling arena. Also, Trinity likes Cheeseburgers! Sweet little boy, playing with his bus...   Take THAT mister bear. Shaken bear syndrome? I believe that Luke the bear is officially airborne... And then it's off to the next (and bigger) challenge...Sinclair! But we'll have to wait to hear about that tale...   So, explain to me how he goes from kick butt wrestler to taking his diaper off in less than thirty seconds. Come on kid, yer killin' me! Sunday we went looking for huckleberries. We found 7 berries. I think this picture explains why. SOMEONE wasn't pulling their weight!   Although she did make friends with lots of trees...   Yes, Happy Meals come with apple juice. Or appa joos.   Autumn and Trinity are in Boise tonight and Trinity has a cheeseburger for dinner. I talked to her on the phone and asked if she had a cheese burger for dinner....
